Scorton Shores, Sandwich, MA

This waterfront 2400 sf home was designed with ocean views and reverse 'Nantucket' living where the main living areas (kitchen, dining, living room) and master-bedroom are located on the 2nd floor because of the breathtaking ocean and beach views. Design allowed for large open connected spaces and open cathedral ceilings with an upper loft.
The loft and roof configuration was designed 'green' to allow maximum natural ventilation and lighting, and orient to views. Local xeriscaping (dune grass) was planted to utilize sustainable low maintenance landscaping, and reduce lawn areas, incorporating additional 'green' design elements to the project.

Although designed with interesting elements, this home was built with a limited budget. Site planning and approvals were carefully executed as the existing cottage was razed and replaced.
